The Thermo Scientific LTQ FT Ultra combines the most advanced Ion Trap and Fourier Transform Ion Cyclotron Resonance (ICR) technologies into a single instrument. The ICR cell design produces enhanced sensitivity and greater dynamic range. It is an ultra high resolution instrument for LC/MS with unprecedented analytical power and versatility.
The instrument is provided with ESI, nano ESI and APCI ionization sources and CID and ECD fragmentation technologies. The primarily use of this instrument is for both bottom-up (proteomics) and top-down approaches for protein analysis, including post-translational modifications.
