The Formulatrix Rock Imager 54 is an automated imaging system for protein crystallography. The instrument comprises a 54-plate temperature controlled automated hotel that houses protein crystallisation plates. The unit is able to automatically image each crystal-tray at high resolution using visible light and cross-polarised imaging methods in a programmable fashion using the Formulatrix sofware.
Users are also able to log-in remotely to view the results of their crystallsation experiments and also direct the imager to re-image individual plates when appropriate.
This instrument was acquired with the support of Australian Research Council Linkage Infrastructure, Equipment and Facilities Grant: ARC LIEF 190100165.
